Ashwani Neeraj’s journey from Rubaru Mr. India 2018 to Mr. Grand International 2019
It was the 10th of March, 2018 when he was elected the most handsome man in India at the nation’s biggest men’s pageant – Rubaru Mr. India. From being a model to becoming a Mr. India might sound like a very conventional thing however for this gentleman, it was just the beginning of a very fascinating journey which was soon going to begin. In the year 2019, he created history by becoming the very first Asian model to win the prestigious international modelling competition – Mister Grand International. He is Mister Grand International 2019, Ashwani Neeraj from Mumbai.
Born in New Delhi, Ashwani completed his higher education from Amity University and IP University. Standing 5 ft. and 11 inches tall, Ashwani is a model, actor and entrepreneur. He has also appeared in a reality TV series on MTV. His life took a turn when he entered the 2018 Rubaru Mr. India pageant. The pageant took place in Goa and the candidates underwent a series of grooming sessions and photo shoots prior to appearing for the national finals. Ashwani was amongst the major front runners and crowd favorite candidates that year. He performed extremely well during all the preliminary events of the pageant, becoming one of the top placers in all the categories. The national finale of Rubaru Mr. India 2018 contest culminated at Las Olas Resort in Goa and Ashwani was elected the event’s winner. Along with winning this prestigious title, he also won the golden opportunity of representing India at an international modelling competition.
In the year 2019, he flew to Brazil to represent India at the renowned international modelling competition – Mister Grand International. The pageant was attended by models from different parts of the world. After multiple photoshoots and pre-finale challenge events, on November 9, 2019, the 2019 Mister Grand International competition culminated at Novo Hamburgo with Ashwani securing the winner’s position. His victory also marked the very first time an Asian delegate’s victory at the said pageant.
Based in Brazil, Mister Grand International competition is an annual international modelling event owned by Brazilian entrepreneur, Brunno Job. The event is one of the biggest international model hunt events based in Latin American region. Every year, models from various nations and territories attend this fashion festival. Over the years, the pageant has produced various extremely good-looking male models.
