Q. Many congratulations to you for making it to the national finals of Rubaru Miss India Elite 2021 beauty pageant. How do you feel about it?
Ashima Sharma: Thank you so much. It feels great that I have been selected as one of the finalists for the next edition of Rubaru Miss India Elite beauty pageant. It is a matter of honor and pride when you get selected to compete at a national event and I so happy about it. I am looking forward to meet all my co-contestants at the pageant, and begin a new chapter in my life.
Q. Please tell us about your hobbies and areas of interest.
Ashima Sharma: My arears of interest cover a wide range of activities, from travelling to dancing, from acting to singing, I enjoy them all. However, the one thing that I enjoy the most is elocution. My journey as a professional emcee and event presenter began because of my fondness for elocution and public speaking. Interacting with people whom I have never met before and establishing a connection with them, I find it really fascinating. It makes me happy when I see that I was able to make others smile.
Q. Describe yourself in three words.
Ashima Sharma: The three words that describe me the best are,
1. Passionate – When I am interested in something then I become very passionate about it. I put all my efforts together in achieving it.
2. Patience – I know how important this quality is. I try to stay calm in every situation because when you are calm and patient, you can come up with better solutions for any issues.
3. Assertive – Self-confidence is the trait that makes an individual express himself / herself properly. It is very important to express your views gently without being arrogant or aggressive. I am a very good listener. In order to be a good speaker one needs to be a good listener first. I listen to everyone’s words and think clearly before speaking. This also helps me express myself properly.
Q. In your opinion, what is the best way to handle criticism?
Ashima Sharma: No individual is perfect in this world. Even the kindest and the wisest of individuals have faced criticism at some point in their lives. It is best to accept the feedback that has been delivered to you and analyze it, if it could help you become a better person or not. Keep smiling and never lose your temper.
Q. What is the biggest lesson that life has taught you?
Ashima Sharma: Success does not come easy, if it did then it is hard to handle. When I was in my teenage, I lost my father. He was the only bread-winner in our family. In order to support my family, I started working during my crucial teenage years. There came several hurdles in my path, that made me understand the higher you climb, the tougher the competition becomes. I took every hurdle in my path as a challenge and every failure as a lesson. I am happy that I am taking care of my family and able to make them smile.
Q. Who or what has been your greatest support in life?
Ashima Sharma: My family. They have supported me and continue to support me in every situation. Their faith in me and my dreams, and their amazing support have been the driving force behind my growth – professionally and personally. The place, where I come from, still lacks some sort of awareness when it comes to professional choices involving concepts like fashion, showbiz or modelling. There is a notion that these concepts can only flourish in metropolis and big cities. My family never let such things come in my way. They supported in whichever way they could and made me the person I am today.
Q. Any quote or saying that has profound impact on you.
Ashima Sharma: It is a very popular quote – “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.” – By Audrey Hepburn. This quote boosts my confidence and motivates me every single day.
Q. Lastly, any message for the readers.
Ashima Sharma: Thank you so much for supporting me. Please keep supporting and I shall do you proud. Keep chasing your dreams and help other in achieving their dreams. Thank you.
