Shivika Singh Bais, Rubaru Mrs. India 2021 finalist

Q. Many congratulations to you for making it to the national finals of Rubaru Mrs. India beauty pageant. How do you feel about it?
Shivika Singh Bais:
Thank you so much.I feel very happy and proud to be a state finalist of Rubaru Mrs. India 2021 contest. I am thankful to the organization for providing us, women such a brilliant platform to showcase our talent on national as well as international level. I have prepared very hard for almost 2 years on each and every aspect of my personality and I am looking forward to meet my fellow contestants, grooming experts and team members. Since I am a professional fashion model, I am sure this would open doors for even bigger opportunities for me. Also it has always been my dream to represent India at an international platform and to show the world, the rich history, colorful culture, beautiful values and wonderful tradition of my country. I am excited to begin my journey towards the finale is amazing.

Q. Please tell us something about your hobbies and areas of interest.
Shivika Singh Bais:
I am a professor by profession, reading books comes naturally to me. Also, I believe that books have the power to transform our thinking and change the course of one’s life. I never restrict myself to a particular genre and love to read books based on a a variety of topics. Apart from books and my professional modelling assignments, whatever time I am left with I dedicate myself for animal welfare and I want to be the voice for the voiceless animals. I wish to put an end to the animal abuse and cruelty. I want our society to respect animals and stop mistreating them. I wish to show the people the unconditional love that these beings have for everyone. It’s just that we need to reciprocate it with the same affinity.

Q. Describe yourself in three words.
Shivika Singh:
Confident, Hardworking and Dedicated.

Q. In your opinion, what is the  best way to handle criticism?
Shivika Singh Bais:
Criticism can be categorised in two segments – constructive and destructive. For me, I never let destructive criticism influence me. However, I accept constructive criticism with dignity and composure. It helps me grow –  professionally, personally and socially. I believe that one should be liberal with others and strict with oneself. I criticise myself sometimes when I am tired and then I push my limits to break that glass ceiling.

Q. What is the biggest lesson that life has taught you?
Shivika Singh Bais:
I have achieved things by my own, nothing comes easy to you unless you strive for it. You have to be very focused and for that you have to make your own principles and time management is of utmost importance. I am a professor, a fashion model, a PhD student and above all of this I am a mother of a six-year-old sweet girl, so I need to balance myself and assign time for all my roles.

Q. Who or what has been your greatest inspiration in life?
Shivika Singh Bais:
My 6-year-old daughter is my pillar of strength because when she looks at me, she is looking at her role model and since children learn more from observation than by teaching, I have to make sure that I become a person whom she feels proud of; a person who has a grand stature. When finally, she sees me shining, the twinkle in her eyes gives me motivation and support to keep on accelerating towards a new benchmark.

Q. Any quote or saying that has profound impact on you.
Shivika Singh Bais:
I believe in the quote: “Winning isn’t everything but making the efforts to win is everything.”  So, I keep myself on for every learning or training lesson that could be beneficial for me. I have made it a habit of making efforts irrespective of any hurdles or problems. Sooner or later, I believe I will succeed.

Q. Lastly, any message for the readers.
Shivika Singh Bais:
My first message is as Shivika Singh Bais, who is a citizen of India – Everyone please follow the safety guidelines issued by the authorities, please wear mask(s) and take care of yourself and your families. Stay safe, stay healthy. The second wave of COVID-19 is very dangerous, and it is our responsibility as the citizens of this nation to cooperate with the medical professional and government, so that its rapid spread can be controlled.
