From Debutants to winners – The three history makers from the Northeast India

The Northeastern part of India is full of talented and skillful people. Time and again they have come forward and amazed the nation and the world with their talents, potential and capabilities. In 2021, three such individuals wrote their names in golden letters in the history of Indian pageantry. They marked their respective city’s / town’s debut at the nation’s biggest pageant for men and went to win the 3 highest placements at the competition.

Tumken Sora from Lepa Rada, Arunachal Pradesh; Songashim Rungsung from Ukhrul, Manipuri and Tseteej Shiwakoty from Gangtok, Sikkim; marked their respective city’s / town’s debut at India’s biggest and oldest running male pageant – Rubaru Mr. India, this year (2021) and walked away with the winners’ titles.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Tumken Sora became the very first model from the Northeast region of India, to get chosen as the brand ambassador of Rubaru Mr. India competition. He also won Mr. Arunachal competition in 2019.

Songashim Rungsung became the very first candidate from Ukhrul to enter Rubaru Mr. India competition and won Rubaru Mr. India United Continents 2020-21 title. He will serve as India’s representative at international competition – Mister United Continents.

Gangtok’s Tseteej Shiwakoty became the very first candidate from his state to enter Rubaru Mr. India competition and won Rubaru Mr. India Global 2020-21 title. He will serve as India’s representative at international competition – Mister Global. He has also won Mr. Sikkim Kanchenjunga title in 2019.

This has also happened for the very first in the history of Indian pageantry that the debutant cities / towns won the competition in their first attempt. Rubaru Mr. India is India’s biggest and most prestigious national level pageant for men. The pageant is owned by Rubaru Group. The winners / top placers of the pageant represent India at some of the biggest and most well-established international pageants across the globe. The Rubaru Mr. India pageant was created in the year 2004 and has been happening annually ever since its inception, making it the oldest existing annual male pageant in India. Since the pageant’s inception in the year 2004, the pageant has sent India’s representatives to more than 10 different international pageants and modelling competitions every year. The pageant also holds the records of being associated to the maximum number of international modelling organizations in India. The pageant is regarded as one of the most successful national male pageants in the world for producing multiple international titleholders and award winners over the years.
