“Knowledge is the light to the darkness of ignorance,” quoted Shouryaditya Singh, Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21, while revealing the approach that helped him top the preliminary (primary) and final (secondary) interview segments of Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21 competition.

Earlier this year, Shouryaditya Singh from Jharkhand was elected Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21, at the national finale of the nation’s oldest running male pageant, concluded on April 8, 2021, in Goa. Along with winning the coveted title, he also scored the highest points in interview segments of the competition. Impressed by his splendid performance in the interview segments, pageant analysts and experts tagged him as one of the most eloquent and intellectual male pageant winners in the world.

On being asked, what advice he would like to deliver to the pageant aspirants who wish to perform better during pageant interviews, Shouryaditya replied, “It is from my own experience that I can say in order to perform well during any interview (be it for any pageant or out of side of the pageant world or for any other professional purpose), always be clear with your thoughts and express them confidently. Clarity comes with concrete thought process and confidence comes with knowledge and how well you can convey your thoughts. If you are well-versed with the facts, you want to convey then you would automatically feel confident. We were not aware of the questions that might be posed at us during the competition, thus, we did not have much time to think. The only time we received to think and construct our answers was the time when the question was being asked and we had to immediately come up with our answers. While constructing my answers, I kept 5 C’s in mind. The 5 C’s include – Content, Context, Clarity, Composition and Consistency -the content that I included in my answer; in which context it has to be delivered so that it looks appropriate; how clear my answer is so that it can make my views and thoughts to be understood properly; what constitutes to my answer and in what order they are arranged and lastly, how consistent I portray myself during the entire interview segment. I kept all these concepts in my mind while answering the questions and I would advise the same to the aspirants who want to perform well during any interviews they face in life. Keep learning new things in life. Knowledge is the light to the darkness of ignorance. Knowledge makes you wiser and help you understand and analyze things in a far better way.”

Shouryaditya Singh is the first Mr. India winner from the Indian state of Jharkhand. His eloquence and intellect are considered to be the prime reasons for his victory. While matching the current trends in the pageantry, Shouryaditya Singh completely fits the mould of a 21st beauty pageant titleholder who along with being extremely good-looking, also possesses strong intellect and remarkable gift of gab.
