Meet the new winners of Mr. and Miss West Bengal contest, Tanmoy Das and Sonalika Sinha

This year’s Mr. and Miss West Bengal contest concluded on November 16, 2019 at Golden Tulip Salt Lake in Kolkata. At the conclusion of the event, Tanmoy Das from Durgapur was elected Mr. West Bengal 2019 and Sonalika Sinha was crowned Miss West Bengal 2019. The pageant was organized by I-Glam organization headed by Ddevjani Mitra, in collaboration with Indian pageant and modelling organization, Rubaru Group. Both the winners –  Tanmoy Das and Sonalika Sinha won direct entry to the national finale of Rubaru Mr. India 2020 and Rubaru Miss India Elite 2020 contests.

The reigning Mr. West Bengal, Tanmoy Das hails from Durgapur. He is a student of English Literature and Communication and is a model by profession. He stands 6 ft. tall and has black hair and black eyes. The reigning Miss West Bengal, Sonalika Sinha is pursuing her higher studies at SSLNT College and is a freelance model by profession. She stands 5 ft. and 7 inches tall and has brown hair and black eyes.

About the pageant –  Mr. and Miss West Bengal: In collaboration with Indian pageant and modelling organization, Rubaru Group, I-Glam organization under the leadership of its founder, Ddevjani Mitra, organized the Mr. and Miss West Bengal competition. Candidates from different parts of the state were shortlisted to compete at the final show. After a week-long preliminary events and challenges the candidates appeared for the finale show. The participants were judged on various parameters like confidence, personality, runway skills, communication skills, on and off stage presentation, on and off camera presentation, fitness, intellect and many more. The candidates took part in different segments of the pageant that included individual interviews, formal and evening wear round, and health and fitness round. The final judgement was made by taking under consideration the performances of the candidates during all these preliminary events and the overall performance of each candidate during and prior to the finale. Both the winners –  Tanmoy Das (Mr. West Bengal) and Sonalika Sinha (Miss West Bengal) won direct entry to the national finale of Rubaru Mr. India 2020 and Rubaru Miss India Elite 2020 contests respectively.

About the pageant – Rubaru Mr. India: Rubaru Mr. India is India’s biggest and most prestigious national level pageant for men. The pageant is owned by Rubaru Group. The winners / top placers of the pageant represent India at some of the biggest and most well-established international pageants across the globe. The Rubaru Mr. India pageant was created in the year 2004 and has been happening annually ever since its inception, making it the oldest existing annual male pageant in India. The pageant was first held in the 2004, making it one of the oldest running national beauty pageants in India. The top placers and winner of Rubaru Miss India Elite beauty pageant represents India at some of the well-established international beauty pageants in the world. Since the pageant’s inception, it has sent India’s representatives to more than 10 international beauty pageants and modelling competitions based in different parts of the world.
