Mr. and Miss Goa 2019 competition concludes in Colva
This year’s Mr. and Miss Goa competition successfully concluded on December 7, 2019 at Salcete Beach Resort in Colva, Goa. At the grand finale of the pageant, Malik Rehan from Taleigao was elected Mr. Goa 2019 and Narusha Leonath Dsouza from Calagute was crowned Miss Goa 2019. At the same event, Salisha Amonkar from Tivim (also spelled Thivim) was crowned Miss Goa 2019 (First runner-up); Vishakha Dinesh Kalvekar from Panaji was crowned Miss Goa 2019 (Second runner-up); Jedroy Mario Dacunha from Benaulim was elected Mr. Goa 2019 (First runner-up) and Rendel Ferros from Panaji was elected Mr. Goa 2010 (Second runner-up). The grand finale of the pageant was hosted by Desmond Oliveira. The competition was organized by AB Productions headed by former Mr. Goa titleholder and entrepreneur, Abrar Naik and his team.
Forty (40) candidates from different parts of Goa competed at this year’s Mr. and Miss Goa competition. The candidates were mentored by mentored by Mr. Goa 2018, Rahul Rametri; the head of AB Productions and former Mr. Goa titleholder, Abrar Naik and the reigning Rubaru Miss India Elite titleholder and international beauty queen, Nakita Tania Fernandes. After a week-long preliminary events and challenges the candidates appeared for the finale show. The participants were judged on various parameters like confidence, personality, runway skills, communication skills, on and off stage presentation, on and off camera presentation, fitness, intellect and many more. The candidates took part in different segments of the pageant that included individual interviews, formal and evening wear round, and health and fitness round. The final judgement was made by taking under consideration the performances of the candidates during all these preliminary events and the overall performance of each candidate during and prior to the finale. Along with winning these prestigious titles and awards, the top 3 placement holders of Mr. and Miss Goa 2019 pageant have also won direct entry to the national finale of Rubaru Mr. India 2020 and Rubaru Miss India Elite 2020 beauty pageants, scheduled to take place next year.
