Mr. Arunachal – A strong and productive platform supporting the youth of Arunachal Pradesh
Mr. Arunachal is one the biggest state level championships in India. It is one of the major contributors to Arunachal Pradesh’s entertainment and film industry. The championship has introduced multiple faces to the state’s showbiz industry and has been offering steadfast and unwavering support to the youth of Arunachal Pradesh.
Mr. Arunachal championship is annual event, organized by Aries Corps, under the leadership of its founder and chairman, Jack Taniya Budh. The event is supported by the Department of Youth Affairs of Arunachal Pradesh, and the honorable ministers hailing from the state. The chief motto of the organization is to provide a credible and strong platform to the young men of Arunachal Pradesh, where they can display their talents and skills, and can become a role model for the youth. Along with that, it opens doors for the youth to the career paths they want to walk on – be it acting, be it modelling, be it entrepreneurship or any other road that they would want to take.
Jack Taniya Budh, the founder and chairman of Aries Corps Event Management Group, came up with the idea of Mr. Arunachal in the mid-2010’s. There were several pageants and talent shows in India, however, there were very limited options for men in the state. In Arunachal Pradesh, there were sporting events for athletes, however, there were no such proper fashion or modelling events were the young men of the state could show their talents and skills. Absence of such platforms gave very difficult and harsh times to aspiring models hailing from Arunachal Pradesh. All such circumstances led Jack Taniya Budh to create Mr. Arunachal championship – a platform to support aspiring artists, models and actors.
Since its inception, Mr. Arunachal has introduced multiple faces to the showbiz industry. Some of the notable faces produced by the championship include Lod Akash, Metum Timba and Tumken Sora. All these gentlemen began their careers with Mr. Arunachal championship and made a mark for themselves. Lod Akash began his journey with Mr. Arunachal in 2017, and today he is one of the most eloquent and versatile event presenters in India; Metum Timba also began his journey with Mr. Arunachal and later joined the glitzy world of fashion and glamour.
The year 2019 proved to be a significant year in the history of Mr. Arunachal championship. It was for the very first time that Mr. Arunachal organization joined hands with India’s biggest male pageant – Rubaru Mr. India. The association was formed to select Arunachal Pradesh’s representative for the Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21 championship. On November 30, 2019, Tumken Sora was elected Mr. Arunachal 2019. He created history by becoming the very first delegate from Arunachal Pradesh to walk the ramp at Rubaru Mr. India championship and became the very first model from the Northeast India to get chosen as the brand ambassador of Rubaru Mr. India organization. Today, Tumken Sora is one of the most celebrated actors and models in Arunachal Pradesh. He is also a social media influencer and YouTuber. His contributions to the arts and entertainment fields has also been acknowledged by the Film Federation of Arunachal (FFA). He had also won Best Actor (in a leading role) award at the annual Arunachal Film Festival.
This year (2021), aspiring civil engineer, Minjom Padu from Aalo won Mr. Arunachal championship, held in Itanagar. Along with winning this title, he was also named the face of Northeast Fashion Week and will also serve as Arunachal Pradesh’s representative at the 2022 Rubaru Mr. India championship. He is the first finalist chosen to compete at Rubaru Mr. India 2022 championship. Mr. Arunachal celebrated its 5th edition this year and it has already become a stepping stone for several individuals who want to achieve their dreams and utilize their titles and achievements for the betterment of the society. The event is committed to offer unwavering support to the youth of Arunachal Pradesh, helping them become role models for the newer generation.
