Narusha Leonath Dsouza from Calangute won Miss Goa 2019
Narusha Leonath Dsouza from Calangute was crowned Miss Goa 2019 at the grand finale of the Miss Goa 2019 beauty pageant concluded on December 7, 2019 at Salcete Beach Resort in Colva, Goa. She was crowned the event’s winner by model and international beauty queen, Nakita Tania Fernandes. At the same event, Salisha Amonkar from Tivim (also spelled Thivim) was crowned first runner-up and Vishakha Dinesh Kalvekar from Panaji was crowned second runner-up. The pageant was organized by AB Productions headed by former Mr. Goa (Runner-up) and entrepreneur, Abrar Naik and team.

Along with winning this prestigious title, Narusha Dsouza also won direct entry to the national finale of Rubaru Miss India Elite 2020 beauty pageant, scheduled to take place next year. Narusha Dsouza belongs to Calangute and currently resides in Panaji. She is 19 years old and is a student of business administration and management at St. Xavier’s College, Goa. She stands 1.68 m tall and has black hair and brown eyes. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, interacting with people and learning about new cultures.

This year’s Miss Goa pageant took place in Colva. It was hosted by Desmond Oliveira. After a week-long preliminary events and challenges the candidates appeared for the finale show. The Miss Goa 2019 candidates were mentored by model and international beauty queen, Nakita Tania Fernandes. She was also one of the judges at the pageant. The participants were judged on various parameters like confidence, personality, runway skills, communication skills, on and off stage presentation, on and off camera presentation, beauty, grace, poise and many more. The candidates took part in different segments of the pageant that included individual interviews, evening gown round, national costume round and health and fitness round. The final judgement was made by taking under consideration the performances of the candidates during all these preliminary events and the overall performance of each candidate during and prior to the finale. The winner, Narusha Dsouza will travel to New Delhi next year to compete at the national finale of Rubaru Miss India Elite 2020 beauty pageant.

About the pageant – Rubaru Miss India Elite: Rubaru Miss India Elite is an annual national beauty pageant in India. The pageant is owned by Rubaru Group. The pageant was first held in the 2004, making it one of the oldest running national beauty pageants in India. The top placers and winner of Rubaru Miss India Elite beauty pageant represents India at some of the well-established international beauty pageants in the world. The reigning Rubaru Miss India Elite titleholders are from Goa. They are Nakita Tania Fernandes and Sharon Days.
