“Never let your past failures refrain you from trying again,” says Paras Arora, Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21

“Never let your past failures refrain you from trying again,” said Paras Arora while speaking about returning to the Rubaru Mr. India competition in 2021, and winning it in his second attempt. Paras Arora first entered the Rubaru Mr. India competition in 2019 and ended up as a finalist. In 2021, he returned to the competition and ended up winning the prestigious title. He was elected Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21, holding the title for two years – 2020 and 2021. Along with that, he also won the opportunity to represent India at the prestigious Mister Grand International championship, scheduled to take place in Brazil at the end of this year.
Rubaru Mr. India is India’s biggest male pageant. This year, the pageant’s finale took place on April 8, 2021 in Goa. At the culmination of the event, Paras Arora was proclaimed the winner of the event. While speaking about his victory and rejoining the event, this modest gentleman mentioned, “When I joined the contest in 2019, like every other participant, I had the hopes and dreams of winning it. However, destiny had some other plans for me. I could only make up to the finals that year. Not winning the competition made me sad initially however, I did not let that sadness influence my confidence and determination. I always believe that there are no losers; there are winners and the rest are the people who are not them. Since childhood, I have had a very optimistic perspective on life however that does not deviate my thoughts from the actual reality. I told myself, there’s always a next time. A year later, in 2020, I joined the pageant again, it was postponed to 2021 due to the global pandemic. I took my failure from 2019 as a lesson and returned to the same platform that taught me that lesson. Not only I ended up winning the championship this time, but I also won the special award of Mr. Style Icon 2020-21. From not winning a single award in 2019 and not evening entering the Top placers zone to winning the championship in 2021 along with winning a special award, that evening I learnt yet another crucial lesson – Never let your past failures refrain you from trying again. It did take me 2 attempts to win the contest however, I feel satisfied that at last I achieved the goal that I set for myself. Perhaps it took some time however I received much more than I expected. Clearly, my failure in 2019 was a blessing in disguise that ended up bestowing me with this wonderful gift this year.”
