Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21, Gopinath Ravi all set to make his Kollywood debut with ‘Bagheera’
The current winner of Rubaru Mr. India competition, Gopinath Ravi is all set to make his Kollywood debut with Adhik Ravichandaran’s ‘Bagheera’. The movie also stars legendary actor, director, choreographer, producer and dancer, Prabhudeva and Sakshi Agarwal. The movie is going to be a psychological thriller, and Gopinath will be essaying the role of Sakshi Agarwal’s boyfriend. Along with this splendid movie, the Chennai-based gentleman is also going to be part of another movie whose details will be revealed in coming months. In addition to this, he has also been signed for a Malayalam and a Tamil web-series.
Gopinath Ravi hails from Pollachi and is currently based in Chennai. He holds a degree in software architecture and engineering and began his career as a software architect. He later switched to modelling and started doing ramp shows. He was discovered by a casting director while he was walking the ramp at a fashion show. In 2020, he was selected to compete at the national finals of India’s biggest male pageant – Rubaru Mr. India. The event was originally scheduled to take place in March-April in 2020, however got postponed to 2021 due to the ongoing global pandemic.
In April 2021, Gopinath Ravi travelled to Goa and competed at the national finale of the 17th edition of Rubaru Mr. India competition. At the culmination of the competition, on April 8, he was proclaimed the event’s winner, winning the title of Rubaru Mr. India Asia Pacific 2020-21. Since it was a combined event for the years 2020 and 2021, the organizers of the competition mentioned that Gopinath will hold the Rubaru Mr. India title for two years – 2020 and 2021. Along with winning this prestigious title, he also won People’s Choice Award after receiving maximum number of votes. As part of his winning package, he will represent India at an international pageant based in the United States of America.
